A solid album by one of the real masters of gospel music. Everytime when I listen to Fountain’s solo work and compare it with his work with the Blind Boys of Alabama I’m getting the impression that without the Boys there is more room for his voice to excel. It’s now just the man and the musicians.

In “Ain’t no way” Fountain is singing about one of his friends who crossed over and started singing rock&roll and who ultimately lost his soul. Any ideas about who he is singing?
