This is the only album Emma Creamer made under her own name. Before she recorded this album she was a member of the Roger Roberts Singers. Creamer comes from Wilmington, Delaware where she is still active in her local church.

The opening track of the album is a ‘gospelised’ version of Aretha Franklin’s “Spirit in the dark”. Creamer doesn’t have an exceptionally good or outstanding voice. This doesn’t mean that it’s a bad album. It just means that it isn’t an exceptionally good one everyone should have in his collection. Her voice is at its best in the more downtempo songs. Unfortunately there are only a couple of them on the record.
