Hoyt Sullivan wasn’t only the owner of HSE and Su-Ann, but he also had a few smaller and lesser known labels which released gospel music.

Talking about The Golden Stars of Greenwood, S.C., you should know that there is still another Sullivan 45 by them to try to locate. The titles are “Let’s Have a Family Prayer”/”Keep on Praying”.  The identification number of this record is unknown. When recalling the recording date with Sullivan, Norris Turner asserted that it was made in 1955 or 1956 (!), because he left the Golden Stars in 1956 to join The Spiritualaires of Columbia, S.C. and went to live in New York for some time. The Sullivan 45s by the group, however, could have been released long afterwards, but it was probably not later than 1958, since this year is mentioned in the group’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Booklet! This information comes directly from my personal contacts with Turner and the Devlin brothers. (Per Notini in an email to Robert Termorshuizen)
