CHURCH DOOR
The Church Door label out of Atlanta, Georgia was started by Herb Lance, who together with Calvin Arnold ran a studio in Atlanta, in the late 1960s or early 1970s. On many a Church Door 45 Calvin Arnold is given credited as producer and Herb Lance as executive producer. It's interesting to notice that artists (Favorite Aires, Mighty Knights) who had 45s released on Church Door had an album (including the 45s) released in the first half of the 1970s on the Mainstream label out of New York. It was only in the second half of the 1970s that Church Door started releasing albums. At that time Church Door had a distribution arrangement with Atlanta International Record Company (AIR). Around 1983 Church Door was folded with the artist roster being taken over by AIR.
