WORLD WONDERS

The World Wonders of Birmingham, Alabama made their recording debut with a 45 on Cherub in 1978. This 45 made such an impact that it was picked up by Savoy who reissued it as Savoy 4373. Both sides of the 45, "Don't Give Up" and "Two Wings", were part of the group's first album "Don't Give Up" (Savoy LP 14510) which was released in 1979. Their second album "The Cost Of Living Is Very High" (Savoy LP 14576) from 1980 was as good as their first one. In the linernotes on the back is stated that the World Wonders won an award for the most promising new quartet with their first album. Unfortunately for us, and for reasons unknown it was all over after their second album. Apparently they gave up.

With only a legacy of only one single and two albums, they still deserve their own page at Just Moving On. It's not quantity, but quality that matters.
