FLYING CLOUDS OF MONTGOMERY, ALA

The group was started in 1950 in Elmore, Alabama under the leadership of Rev. Horace King. It took to 1965 before they made their recording debut on Ziontone with a 45 that was later picked up by Savoy. At that time Tommie Wilson Jr had taken over management of the group. At Savoy they released two albums. Membership at their Savoy period was: Isaac Owens (lead vocals), Clarence Tilman (tenor vocals), Henry Hardin (alto vocals), Tommie Wilson Jr. (bass vocals), Andrew Rallins (vocals), Claude Balemon (guitars) and Earl Coleman (guitars).
