 Lula Collins

                                                 (Source: John Glassburner)

Lula Collins nicknamed "The Delta Gospel Queen" recorded in the first half of the seventies for Luna, Home Boy's, Hub-City, Messenger and HSE. For an artists who recorded so much in such a small period it is surprising (and disappointing) that so little information about her can be found. Anyone who has more information about this underrated artist please do send it to us.

Lula Collins Album Discography:

  Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow  Hub-City 12-19-75
  The Delta Gospel Queen  HSE-1502
Who Will Be Able Gospel Express CD 0151

At my blog I've wrongly stated that the Gospel Express CD is a re-issue of the Hub-City album. It isn't. Both track lists are completely different. Lulla Collins also had one song, "He's real" on a Bishop J Bobby Cole album "Phone Call From Heaven" (Michal LP 249). This album and the "Who Will Be Able" CD can be bought at Gospel Express. Sound quality on the Lula Collins CD is poor and it looks more like a CDR than a genuine release.
