GOLDEN STARS (of Connecticut)

The Golden Stars out of Connecticut recorded two albums in the 1970s. The liner notes of their Champ album give the following line-up of the group: Luddie Dobbs Jr. (lead vocal), Homer Ringwood (second tenor), Gene Dobbs (baritone), Tim Witherspoon (first tenor & bass guitar), George C. Staton Sr. (bass & baritone), Curt McFaddin (lead guitar), James Thompson (rhythm guitar), Steve Carrington (drums), Ray Cobb (organ). The Charioteer album adds Nate Atkins as a lead singer besides Luddie Dobbs Jr.

Looking at the covers of both albums and with the knowledge that the Champ album is released in 1977-78 we think that this is the chronological order:

Charioteer LP 1013 Give Me Grace Lord give me grace 1975-77
      Steal away
      All day long
      Let Jesus fix it
      Forgive me Lord
      You gotta move
      Use me Lord
Take your burdens to the Lord
Lord, help me to hold out
      Walk with me Lord

Champ LP 1959 Lord I Put My Thrust In Thee Steal away 1977-78
There is a stranger at the door
Lord I put my thrust in Thee
      One day at a time
I don't feel no ways tired
      Hold on
      I wasn't there
      I'll fly away
There's been a change in me
      You're gonna need somebody
