Brothers Earl and Virgil Mixon founded the (Sensational) Golden Stars of Chicago in 1963. In the beginning it was an all male group. Membership changed through the years and in the early seventies it became a mixed group, making their record debut on One-Way subsidiaries Skyway and Reese. According to the liner notes of their "I've Been Born Again" membership in 1975 was as follows: Earl Mixon, Rev. Virgle Mixon, Agrelia Lang (joined in 1975), Selestine Taylor (joined in 1974), Carrie Jones (joined in 1975). At the time of recording the "Bought With A Price" album Carrie Jones had been replaced by Thomas Taylor. Both their "I've Been Born Again" and "Bought With A Price" album were recorded at the Crusade Studios in Flora, Illinois. Their HLF 45 was as most (if not all) HLF recordings produced by Hayes Farmer and recorded at the Odyssey Studios in Chicago. When you look at the labelscan of HLF 120 at the top "Cut live from The World's Greatest Gospel LP". So far we haven't been able to track down this album.
Their discography in what we believe is the chronological order:
