One of the great heroes of Gospel Music is Clarence Fountain. With a music career spanning more than 6 decades it’s impossible to tell his whole story on just one page. A highly underrated part of his career are his solo years without the other Blind Boys from Alabama when he recorded for the Jewel label out of Shreveport, LA.  He recorded 7 albums for Jewel before rejoining the Alabama Blind Boys in 1977. Roscoe Robinson joined the Blind Boys around the same time. Fountain and the Boys joined the cast for ‘The Gospel At Colonus’ in 1983. Surprisingly, he made one other solo album in 1988.
